Kimberly Allen

Associate Attorney | Immigration Law

Focused on immigration litigation, family unity, and guiding clients through complex and high-stakes legal processes.

I knew I wanted to use my law degree to work closely with people and address issues that have a real and lasting impact on their well-being. During law school, I had the opportunity to work in the Immigration Clinic and found the work both enjoyable and deeply rewarding.

For me, immigration law offers a balance between transactional work and building personal relationships. It allows me to help people navigate a complicated system while staying closely connected to the individuals and families affected by each case.

At Westover Law Firm, my work focuses primarily on litigation, with additional involvement in family-based immigration matters.

Immigration Litigation

  • Immigration court representation
  • Detained cases
  • Non-detained cases
  • Cancellation of Removal

Family-Based Immigration

  • Family petitions
  • Adjustment of status
  • Green card applications
  • Affirmative filings

While I am task-oriented by nature, I truly enjoy meeting with clients in person and getting to know what matters most to them. My goal is always to help clients feel that I genuinely care about their lives and the outcome of their cases.

I want my clients to feel supported, understood, and confident that they are not facing the immigration system alone.

I came into law later in life after being a stay-at-home mom for twenty-five years. That experience has shaped my perspective and strengthened my passion for keeping families together, strong, and secure.

I have also learned that teamwork is critical to success as an attorney. I am fortunate to work alongside capable and caring colleagues who support one another and our clients every step of the way.

Litigation Experience

Because I am a newer attorney, my litigation experience is currently focused on immigration court. I have worked with both detained and non-detained clients, helping them navigate a system that can feel overwhelming and intimidating without proper legal guidance.

I approach each case with care, preparation, and a deep respect for what is at stake.

High-Stakes Immigration Matters

I believe every immigration case is high-stakes because of the lasting impact it has on people’s lives. Cancellation of Removal cases are especially meaningful to me because they involve individuals with deep ties to the United States who have often lived here for many years.

Winning these cases can change the course of someone’s life. It offers stability and relief to individuals who may have lived for years with uncertainty and fear of losing what feels like home.

My mother is a Mexican citizen who grew up in a small farming community in Chihuahua, Mexico. I remember her talking about how complicated the immigration process was, which may be why she lived in the United States for more than thirty years before becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen.

I spent many of my childhood summers in Mexico, which gave me a deep appreciation for Mexican culture. Raising four children has also reinforced my belief that family is everything, and that perspective carries into every case I handle.

What I Find Most Meaningful

My favorite moments as an immigration attorney are when clients receive their green cards or become naturalized U.S. citizens. After years of waiting, seeing the relief and joy on their faces is incredibly powerful.

I often have to fight back tears during those moments. They remind me why this work matters so much, and why I truly love what I do.

Advice for Clients Starting an Immigration Case

Find an attorney who is passionate about their work and shows that they care about you. Immigration is a long and complex process, so patience is essential. Having the right legal support can make a meaningful difference along the way.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, traveling, and listening to audiobooks.
